3 Weeks!

Well we are still alive and it's been 3 weeks!  Things are going well, a lot better than I thought they would.  At Lola's 10 day appointment she weighed in at 7 lbs 5 oz, so she is starting to chunk up pretty quick!  Alli has been really good with Lola so far.  She calls her "little sister" and is always wondering where she is, if she is hungry and is always worried if she "pooped," she also loves to wipe her mouth if she happens to spit up a bit:)  Alli has been a good helper in that she always wants to give Lola her "pinky" which is the binky, and will throw away all the dirty diapers (yeah for me):).  The sweetest thing is when she whispers to Lola as she kisses her head "I love Lola."

The story:

Well, my last day of work was the 12th and my mom flew in that night.  I had a Dr. appt. on Monday the 14th and when I went in I was only dilated to a 2-big bummer!:(  I had been talking to my Dr. about induction for over 2 months and was emphasizing that my mom was only able to be here for a certain period of time and also that Brian had his licensing clinical exam in Cleveland for 3 days on my original due date, so I wanted to control the date when Lola was to make her arrival:).   However, because of rules and restrictions I wasn't going to be able to be induced until I was 39 weeks-uggh!  Not really what I wanted, but what was I going to do about it?  I had been measuring a little small for my last 2 appointments, but no worries because the baby was probably moving down getting ready to come yada yada yada.  My Dr. suggested we do an ultrasound just to make sure everything was looking okay with measurements and fluid levels ( I think the Dr. was getting the hint that I really wanted to be induced), so that was done and come to find out I was a "little" low on fluid-wink wink.  So the Dr. said "how bout we deliver you today?"  Yeah! It was 12:00 pm. when he told me this so I called my mom and Brian and it was set! I was induced on Monday the 14th at 6 pm'ish and lets just say this labor was a lot longer than I had hoped for.  As soon as I got the epidural (at like 5 am the next morning the 15th) I dilated from a 4 to 10/complete within 30 minutes.  I should have just gotten it like hours and hours before.  The same thing happened with Alli.  As soon as I am able to relax, my body finally decides its okay to have a baby :).  Lessoned learned!  So total time in labor with Lola-11 hours vs. Alli 7 hours.  Everything went well with the delivery-Lola came within 10 minutes after I was complete and I pushed 3 times and out she came.  We are so glad to have her and she is a very mellow tempered sweet baby which I am VERY grateful for since I have a very active toddler on my/our hands:).

The day of delivery

Do you see that red hair? :)

I wasn't planning on such a petite sized baby...Alli was 1 pound bigger and filled out very fast so newborn sized outfits and diapers weren't really utilized.  Lola is still in newborn clothes and in newborn diapers although the 3 mnth clothes are fitting a lot better since she is filling out a little bit:)

Right when we got home from the hospital Alli wanted to hold Lola and give her a "pinky"

Alli makes a very cute big sister

Nana was full of activities and entertainment while she was here...Alli really enjoyed coloring eggs

Big eyes...we think the hair will stay red and those eyes will stay blue
Typical Alli J. at her best ;)

A few days after being home...already starting on the dark circles ;)
