Night Shift

I have learned to really appreciate sleep. After you have a baby you REALLY learn this, but since I work the night shift I also have REALLY learned to appreciate it too :) Alli sleeps 12-13 hours a night, but yet I still feel like a new mom because I still take care of little ones all night long. I love my job, but this is definitely one of the downers...This is how I feel a lot of the time...

Working night shift has its pros and cons and this is the biggest con for sure. I do really well until the clock dings 3 a.m. We night shift nurses call it the "bewitching" hour. If you look at any of us we are zombies-don't get me wrong we are awake and able to our work, but if you sit down to chart at the computer and its really quiet and dark-it takes double time because it is really hard to concentrate :)

But I love helping these little guys and seeing them grow and overcome such difficult things like breathing on their own and it is so great to see them get big enough that they can eventually eat from a bottle-who knew that these things could be such a difficult task to accomplish...I get jealous of them at night though cause they get to sleep and are all cuddly and snuggled and I want to curl up with them...

You learn to appreciate your health and your families health even more so when you see the trials and tribulations that families go through to bring these little people into the world.

I am grateful I have a job that I love and that I can provide some $$$ and insurance for our fam-I just don't let Brian forget that he gets to take over really soon and then I can get back to really enjoying my sleep :)

You're amazing Lac! I can't believe you are still doing that.

I guess it will make you appreciate the day Brian takes over even more :)

Good job, Lacy...way to hang in there. You always look so good, no one could ever tell that you're lacking sleep...I'm a little jealous. :)

Lacy- nights are so hard...I did them for about 6-7 months and I really struggled. I actually did fine while at work, it was the drive home to Mesquite and trying to sleep during the day. I usually only got 4 hrs and then was a zombie for the rest of the day. I gotta give you credit...you are so awesome! Are you still full time, too? Good luck, keep up the great work!

What you do is amazing! You are getting close to finishing though. I always think that someday I will look back at our time in school and miss these days. Then I look at our crappy apartment and ghetto neighbors and it brings me back to reality.

Lacy, what's up?
It is Jessica Hunt Bastian. Do you remember me? I seen your parents a month or so ago at the Platt Twins farewell and it was great to visit with them. It sounds like you are doing great other than a little bit short on sleep. You are awesome to be able to do both. I look at those moms that do both and think how do they do it. I can't do it all and I stay home everyday. The things we do once we have to grow up, my oldest thinks that she has it so bad and I keep trying to tell her just wait you have no idea.
Your mom and dad miss that little girl of yours. She is so cute.
You will have to email me so I can invite you to my blog... lovetoropem@yahoo.com.

Lac I heard you and Jo had fun chatting it up during the marathon, I almost wish I ran it, just so I could spend some time with you guys! But then I remember that I probably would have passed out and you two would have had to carry me over the finish line!!! hahaha Anyways, hopefully we will be in SG around the same time soon, so we can catch up!!! Miss ya!
